Why I love being a motherhood photographer

When I decided to go into business with my photography, I wasn’t fully sure exactly where I was going with it. I dabbled in just about every kind of photography until I realized where my true passion was. Weddings and motherhood! It may not be a coincidence that both of those life stages were and have been my two favorites in my own life!! But why do I love being a motherhood photographer?

I love being a mom myself!

Bringing our daughter into the world was not the easiest experience. She is our “rainbow” baby and will be our one and only. All of her first will also be our lasts, making each moment with her even more meaningful. As her mom, I know that I wont get another chance to have a baby’s first words, steps, or even first day of Kindergarten. Watching her grow into the person she is becoming has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. I also know and understand how hard and challenging motherhood can be. It’s not always rainbows and smiles, but I love being her mom none the less.

I love creating beautiful and meaningful art!

I have always had a passion for the arts. In middle school is when I started to really get into photography. I had my very own “Coolpix” camera that I took everywhere. In high school I took a digital photography class and in 2019, I began getting serious about photography. I loved having quality portraits of my daughter and of my family. In 2020, I decided to start my business and share my gift with others. Knowing how much I value being able to look back at a time that no longer exists, makes my heart happy knowing that I can create that same feeling for others. Time is the one thing we will never have enough of and being able to preserve those precious moments has a lot of value.

It gives my life purpose!

I have been asked, “why photography? Why not get a 9-5 like everyone else?” The answer is simple. Photography gives my life propose. It creates value by allowing me to have a flexible schedule so I can put my own family first while also providing for us financially. It allows me to share my talent and skills with others in a way that has so much meaning to both me and my clients. I truly believe that choosing newborn and maternity photography was Gods will for me. I have been so blessed with the amount of support and love I received. Especially when I was first starting out with not a clue in the world on how to run a business.
